Mr Arthur Miller,
Dear Mr Miller,
It is three years since Dr Nasser Zarafshan, one of prominent members of Iranian Writers Association, winner of PEN International prize, and the lawyer representing families of murdered Iranian writers, dissidents and freedom-lover has been imprisoned.
Another member of Iranian Writers Association, Alireza Jabbari, has also been imprisoned for more than a year for expressing his personal views in an Internet interview.
Mr Zarafshan's imprisonment has no other reason than his peaceful and rightful defence of freedom of expression in Iran, and also his persistence in pursuing the course of the political murder cases.
Mr Jabbari is also in prison merely because he has freely expressed his personal opinions.
Neither the court nor the trial proceedings or the verdicts issued in these two cases have been legal or fair.
Iranian Writers Association who has been struggling against censorship and suppression of thought and expression for 37 years, once again calls for support from freedom-loving writers throughout the world to campaign to free our imprisoned colleagues.
We are sure and thankful of your personal support. With many thanks to all freedom-loving people, especially members of PEN International.
Iranian Writers Association
