Temperature Fluctuation Makes Renovating Iranian National Museum Urgent

Experts are expecting to receive enough funding for renovating Iranian National Museum in a week to start a project made urgent because of the temperature ups and downs in Iran, Iranian Cultural Heritage News Agency reported on Monday.

"The average discrepancy between the maximum and minimum temperature in Iran is 62 degrees Celsius and since the building was not provided with special spaces to accommodate the increase in its walls' length, one could see some cracks on them," said Dr. Abdulazim Amirshah Karami, manager of buttressing the museum.

His team also aims to consolidate the building against jolts in a quake-prone country where several big and small earthquakes occur every month.
