Elsewhere in his remarks, the official said Iran's aluminum production stood at about 180,000 tons this year, showing a growth of 18 percent.
He said the output would hit a 200,000 tons record with the production of 110,000 tons of aluminum in Al-Mahdi Aluminum Complex of Bandar Abbas (Hormuzgan province) and to 120,000 tons in Arak aluminum production facility.
He added that the fourth five-year economic development plan (2005-10) envisions a production of 680,000 tons of aluminum a year, which is 2.5 times more than the present 230,000 tons figure.
