"European women sports experts can help us very much in training coaches, referees and athletes because Iran's women sports is practically languishing behind international standards," said Ahmadipour who is attending a three-day international sports congress entitled 'Sport, Women & Leadership'.
"We have the potential and we have the possibilities to train in Iran but we lack today's sports expertise. The Europeans can help us in many sports disciplines, especially with regards to classes for referees and coaches," she added.
Ahmadipour urged also more European female athletes to compete with their Iranian counterparts.
"It is important to compete with teams which are stronger than us because that's the way we can get ready for major international sports events," the Iranian official stressed.
Ahmadipour said the focal point of her attention is to help prepare Iran's women's athletes for the 2006 Asian Games in Qatar and the 2008 Olympic Games in China.
