Tehran (Iranian Cultural Heritage News Agency) -- Iranian Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization will put forward an international competition for the building of the Persian Gulf great museum.
Ahmad Nosrati, Iranian museums director, said, "Due to the recent measures by the private institutes in changing the name of the Persian Gulf, Iran's CHTO has decided to quicken the building of the Persian Gulf museum and put forward an international competition for it."
Nosrati believes that an international competition for building a museum makes it significant on a global level, so the world will be informed of the importance of the Persian Gulf museum for Iran at the first stages of its building.
"After the building of this national museum is completed, Iranian CHTO is going to set up a chain of museums with a focus on the subject of the Persian Gulf. According to our polls, all the cities on the banks of the Persian Gulf are in favor of having a museum with the subject of gulf to show their sensitivity toward these waters", Ahmad Nosrati told CHN.
Boushehr province governor general has allocated a piece of land of about 20 hectares for the gulf museum to be built by CHTO. The land comprises a part of the 500-hectare land specified for Lian tourist park.
