A group of Iranian expatriates in Berlin are planning to build a SOS children's village for dozens of Bam orphans, the daily Der Tagespiegel reported Tuesday, IRNA reported.
Comprised of Iranian architects, engineers, doctors and journalists, the ambitious Bam orphanage project is coordinated by Iranian architect Vida Amini who along with several other Iranian expatriates founded the 'Bam direct aid' program.
"I wish to build five houses for around 60 children. Little houses which are centered around a courtyard," said the 36-year-old Amini who has been residing in Berlin for the last 13 years.
"The village should also have a small garden with a waterway. It should turn out the way one envisions paradise to be," she added.
Amini stressed her group will be on location to not only supervise the building of the quake-resistant children's homes but the entire project.
The Iranian project coordinators are reportedly looking already for properties in Bam to construct the ultra-modern orphanage.
