Iran took two bronze medals in the women's races of the first Asian Indoor Track-and-Field Championships in Tehran on Saturday, IRNA reported.
Competing in the newly-established Aftab Sports Complex, Padideh Bolourizadeh and Leila Ebrahimi of Iran finished third in 60m and 1500m respectively.
On Friday, female Iranian athletes bagged a silver and a bronze in 3000m walk of the Asian meet.
Ameneh Safavi and Homa Sheikhan stood second and third in 3000m walk respectively.
In 60m, the Iranian sprinter Nafisseh Metaei set a new record, reducing her record from 7.64 seconds to 7.53.
Leila Ebrahim also broke her own and Iran's 800m record with a time of 2.15 minutes.
More than 200 sportswomen from 30 countries are competing in the Asian indoor athletics.
Iran has also won colorful medals in men's contests. Iranian shot-putters Amin-Ebrahim Nikfar and Ali Rahmani grabbed the gold and silver medals Friday.
Nikfar won the coveted gold with a 18.33m throw and the silver went to Rahmani whose throw was three centimeters shy of his fellow countryman's.
Wang Zhi-young of China bagged bronze, throwing 17.93m. Seven shot-putters from Iran, China, Japan, Taiwan, and India competed in the Asian event.
Abdolghaffar Saqar, the country's 60m sprinter, snatched the glittering gold Friday night.
The Iranian clocked 6.76 seconds, handing Iran the first gold at the Asian athletics.
The silver and bronze medals went to sprinters of Hong Kong and China, who passed the finish line after 6.78 and 6.79 seconds respectively.
Hassan Lachini of Iran finished fifth. China and Japan top the table with two golds and one silver each.
