The German government will allocate 2 million euros for the reconstruction of quake-ravaged Bam, the German Development Aid Ministry announced in Berlin on Wednesday, IRNA reported.
The funds will be used to build an orphanage and vocational schools, according to the ministry.
Furthermore the aid will also focus on the treatment of traumatized children and youths. The aid is to benefit widows too, it added.
Meanwhile German Development Aid Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul warned the German public against "abandoning the people of Bam" following the devastating December 26 earthquake which killed more than 40,000 people and left over 100,000 homeless.
