The 19th International fajr Music Festival wrapped up in Tehran on Friday night, IRNA reported.
The most distinguished artists active in the field of music were granted awards at the closing ceremony of the 9-day event.
Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ahmad Masjed Jamei handed over the Golden Chang (Iranian harp) and plaques of honor to 13 of the most prominent musicians and music artists working in such branches as Iranian traditional music, light pop music, professional music, composing, music for films with the theme of women, the most distinguished publisher, the most distinguished researcher, lyric writers and composers of revolutionary songs.
Artists from Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Romania, Ukraine and Tajikistan also received their awards from the minister while the awards of Italian and Azeri artists were submitted to representatives of their respective embassies.
Over 60 foreign and domestic music groups performed for more than 85 times during the festival which opened in Tehran on February 5.
