German exports to Iran topped the 2.5 billion euro mark in 2003, the economic daily Handelsblatt quoted the head of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Martin Wansleben, as saying Tuesday, IRNA reported from Berlin.
He added that German exports to Iran rose 20 percent during the first 10 months of last year, pointing out that the latest figure was in line with the annual 20 percent export growth rate registered over the past three years.
Wansleben said that Germany was ranked first in direct foreign investments in Iran, totaling around 270 million dollars.
The German official welcomed Iran's fiscal efforts to reduce its foreign debts to only 7.5 billion dollars, while raising its foreign currency reserves to over 15 billion dollars.
