Two tremors shook the cities of Izeh and Masjed Soleiman in the southwestern province of Khuzestan Thursday morning, IRNA reported.
Tehran University's Geophysics Institute said that the tremor which hit Izeh at 00:09 hours local time (2339 GMT Wednesday) had a magnitude of 3.4 degrees on the Richter scale while the quake in Masjed Soleiman measured 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale and occurred at 6:09 local time (0239 GMT).
Frequent quakes have shaken the cities for 32 times since Tuesday.
The tremors, the biggest of which measured 4.8 degrees on the Richter scale, have damaged residential units in some villages by 10 to 50 per cent but have claimed no lives.
