A Night with a Milani in Berkeley, California
Iranian Student Alliance in America (ISAA) presents...
Maryam Milani who worked on the film with her sister Tahmineh Milani will
be presenting their new movie: "The Fifth Reaction." Maryam Milani will give a
brief talk after the movie regarding the purpose of the film and the women's
movement in Iran. Her talk will be in Persian. A question and answer
session will follow.

Synopsis of Film:
A young woman, Fereshteh who teaches at a Tehran high school has lost her
husband recently. According to the law and tradition, she has to leave the fate
of her two sons (9 and 7 years old) and the wealth of her husband to her
father in law who is a traditional minded man, while she has to return to her
With the help of her four colleagues (each having an unresolved problem in
their life), Fereshteh manages to show a reaction to her condition... the
concept of the film is confrontation of tradition and modernism.
