An earthquakes measuring 3.6 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the town of Sardasht in the southern province of Khuzestan Tuesday night, IRNA reported from Tehran.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, said the tremor occurred at 23:56 hours local time (2026 GMT).
Meanwhile, another earthquakes measuring 3.4 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale hit southern parts of Fars province Tuesday night.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute said the tremor, epicentered in Larestan town, occurred at 19:32 hours local time (1602 GMT).
There were no reports of any casualties or damage to properties caused by the quakes.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
