British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw on Thursday stressed that Europe is committed toward its pledges toward the Islamic Republic regarding the Tehran Agreement, IRNA reported from Davos.
Straw, in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Kamal Kharrazi on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF), said the success of Iran and Europe in the last November meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) must never be frustrated.
He said it is important that Iran continues cooperation with the IAEA.
Kharrazi, for his part, said Iran's nuclear energy program is peaceful, and that Iran has voluntarily suspended its uranium enrichment activities.
He stressed that it is a source of national pride for Iran to achieve the nuclear technology, adding that no Iranian government can afford to overlook this issue.
Kharrazi said Iran's agreement with the three big European states of France, Germany and Britain had been "a victory for Iran and Europe", stressing that Europe must never let this success to become a failure.
He also said that the continuation of dialogue (regarding Iran-IAEA cooperation) depends on whether the parties of the agreement would live up to their commitments regarding the Tehran Agreement.
