There consecutive earthquakes measuring 3.3,
2.8 and 2.6 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale shook the city of
Bahabad in the southeastern province of Yazd on Wednesday, IRNA
reported from Tehran.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to
Tehran University, registered the epicenter of the quakes at north
west of Bababad.
Another earthquake measuring 5 degrees on the
open-ended Richter scale shook the city of Minab in the southern
province of Hormuzgan on Wednesday.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to
Tehran University, said the tremor occurred at 12:36 hours local time
(0906 GMT).
There were no reports on any casualty or damage to property caused
by the two quakes.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault
lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
