Iran and Germany had already signed in January a water cooperation deal worth 100 million euro which was backed by export credit guarantees from the German state development bank Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau.
"The promotion of research for the water industry creates new jobs in Germany," Bulmahn added.
The German Ministry of Education and Research invested some eight million euros in German-Iranian cooperation on water research.
An Iranian-German consortium consisting of the German companies Walterbau, Siemens and Emscher-Lippe Verband/Genossenschaft and Iran's HAMPA/Tehran are cooperating in the large-scale sewage water project 'Tehran West/Northwest'.
German firms are also included in 11 major drinking and waste water projects.
