World Population Day Seminar is scheduled
to be held here on July 11, IRNA reported from Tehran.
Through cooperation of Ministry of Health and medical universities
around the country, the seminar on World Population Day is to be held
at Tehran University focusing on family planning indicators.
Regional differences for setting out indicators for family
planning, family planning indicators at national and provincial
levels and family planning policies around the country are the main
topics to be discussed in the seminar.
Iran and world future population, population in the third
(2000-05) and fourth (2005-10) development plans of the country,
policies related to population and policies related to birth control
are among the major issues to be discussed in the seminar on World
Population Day in Tehran University.
World Population Day is organized each year on July 11 by the
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
World Population Day 2004 focuses on ways to reduce the terrible
toll of maternal morality and morbidity. It challenges policy makers,
community leaders and educators to use indicators to measure their
progress to reduce maternal morbidity.
