Quake hits southern Iranian city of Genaveh

Bushehr, July 18, IRNA -- An earthquake measuring 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale hit the port city of Genaveh in the southern province of Bushehr on Monday.

According to the seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 10:29 hours local time (0559 GMT).

There were no immediate reports of any casualty or damage to property.

Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
