Private sector to build Iran's biggest tourist resort

Andimeshk, Khuzestan prov, June 9, IRNA -- Iran's biggest tourist resort is to be constructed in the vicinity of Karkheh Dam in the southern city of Andimeshk in Khuzestan province, said a local official on Wednesday.

The private sector will contribute its share to the construction of the resort which will be built at a cost of rls 800 billion, added Andimeshk Governor General Ali Emad.

He said the tourist resort which will have 3,000 villas, is scheduled to be built on an area of 1,500 hectares near Karkheh river.

The construction of the tourist resort, will be completed in three phases within a five-year period, Emad added.

He further stressed that the designing plan of the resort has been drawn up two years ago and approved by governor general of the province.

Emad said that providing appropriate ground to attract foreign tourist, economic promotion of the region and preparing an appropriate environment for the northern residents of the province are among the main objects to construct such a tourist resort in Khuzestan.
