Talking to IRNA after inspecting the quake-hit rural areas in the province, he said priority in the award of prefabricated houses will be given to those whose homes were totally destroyed in the recent earthquakes.
Some 7,000 houses were identified as having been completely destroyed by the quake which hit western Mazandaran.
He said that the housing foundation has a project to construct low-cost, earthquake-resistant houses in the area, adding that initial construction will start in a month.
An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook parts of Mazandaran province in northern Iran on May 28.
The quake inflicted great damage on the cities of Kelardasht and Marzanabad as well as the Kojour district of Nowshahr.
