Berlin, June 30, IRNA -- Hamburger SV fans voted for Iranian
international striker Mehdi Mahdavikia as the team's best player
during the 2003-4 season, the north German club's online site
announced Wednesday.
Some 37.3 percent of Hamburg supporters or 12,964 votes out of a
total 34,750 votes selected the ex-Pirouzi player as their top player
of last season.
Mahdavikia was followed by two other teammates Christian Rahn
with 33.9 percent (11,797 votes) and Sergej Barbarez with only 8.4
percent (2,929 votes).
Hamburg finished last season a disappointing 8th place in the
first German Bundesliga.
