Tremor hits Andimeshk in Khuzestan province
An earthquake measuring 3.6 degrees on the
open-ended Richter scale jolted the city of Andimeshk in the
southwestern province of Khuzestan Thursday night, IRNA reported.
According to the seismological network affiliated to the
Nationwide Seismology Center, the tremor hit the city at 22:08 hours
local time (18:38 GMT).
There were no reports of probable damage by the earthquake.
Quake jolts Avaj in Qazvin province
Two earthquakes measuring 3.4 and 3.1
degrees on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the city of Avaj in
Qazvin province, northwest of Tehran.
According to the seismological network affiliated to the
Nationwide Seismology Centre, the first tremor hit the city at 22:04
hours local time (18:34 GMT) on Thursday while the second one shook
the area at 05:14 hours local time (01:44 GMT) Friday morning.
There were no reports of probable damage or casualty by the
tremors.
Quake jolts Tabriz in East Azarbaijan
An earthquake measuring 3.5 degrees on the
open-ended Richter scale jolted the northwestern Iranian city of
Tabriz in East Azarbaijan province on Thursday afternoon.
The seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute
said the tremor occurred at 16:15 hours local time (1245 GMT).
There were no reports of any immediate damage to property.
Quake jolts Lordegan in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari province
An earthquake measuring 4.1 degrees on the
open-ended Richter scale jolted the vicinity of Lordegan in
Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari province in the southwest of Iran on Thursday
afternoon.
The seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute
said the tremor occurred at 12:52 hours local time (0922 GMT).
There were no reports of any immediate damage to property.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic
faultlines and is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes.
Quake jolts Ahram in Bushehr province
An earthquake measuring 3 degrees on the
open-ended Richter scale jolted the vicinity of Ahram in Bushehr
province in southern Iran on Thursday afternoon.
The seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute
said the tremor occurred at 13:43 hours local time (1013 GMT).
The same region was also jolted twice on Wednesday.
There were no reports of any immediate damage to property.
