An international seminar on investment opportunities in Iran's petrochemical industry concluded work in Kish, Hormuzgan province on Sunday night, IRNA reported. Projects worth two billion dollars were introduced to investors during the two-day seminar.
The managing director of the Petrochemical Industries' Promotions Company told reporters here Sunday that the seminar was very fruiful and produced positive results.
He said one of the accomplished objectives of the seminar was the encouragement given to investors to participate in projects in the industry which are now on the pipeline for implementation.
The seminar on investment opportunities in Iran's downstream petrochemical industries opened in this Persian Gulf island on Saturday.
Three hundred fifty experts, 135 of whom were interested in investing in the industry and its related activities, attended. It allowed participants to survey opportunities for investment in two billion dollars worth of related projects in the industry and the mechanisms put in place by Iran's Industrial Development and Renovation Organization to implement projects.
It also gave a firsthand offer of cooperation between the Iranian government and foreign private sectors for development of the downstream petrochemical industry and expansion of petrochemical exports.
The seminar was organized by IDRO, National Petrochemical Company of Iran as well as the Petrochemical Industries Promotions Company.
Twelve Iranian banks as well as 10 foreign ones along with seven investment companies were other participants in the seminar.
