Shiraz, Fars Prov., March 14, IRNA -- An earthquake measuring 3.6
degrees on the Richter scale jolted the city of Lar in this
southern province Saturday night.
The seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics
Institute said the tremor occurred at 20:23 hours local time (1653
GMT).
There were no reports of any casualties or damage to property
caused by the quake.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic
fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
