Tehran, March 16, IRNA -- Member of Parliament from Tehran Mohsen Armin who resigned to protest the undemocratic process of the seventh parliamentary elections said on Tuesday that he has been summoned by the court.
"I've received two papers summoning me to the court of justice. One presumably refers to an earlier indictment lodged by public prosecutor and the second concerns my lecture printed in the Persian daily Yas-e No," he said.
The MPs enjoy constitutional right to speak out on behalf of the people to help improve state of affairs.
They believe that the Judiciary is violating their political immunity by summoning them to the court.
The three branches of government, the Parliament, the Judiciary and the Executive are constitutionally independent and interference in each others affairs is not authorized.
