Tehran, March 21, IRNA -- Road accidents on the first day of Iran's new year left 42 people killed and 404 others injured, Public Relations Department at the Islamic Republic of Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) said on Sunday.
The report said Tehran, Isfahan and Fars had highest number of victims on the day, mainly due to the carelessness of the drivers.
Based on a report from Tabriz (East Azarbaijan Province), a bus-car collision on Sarab-Ardebil axis northwest of Iran on Saturday night left 10 people either killed or injured, one of them critically, due to carelessness of the car's driver.
Yet another report from eastern province of Semnan, released on Sunday, indicates that a car-bus collision on an axis road in Garmsar northeast of Tehran on Sunday resulted in death of six and injury of 11 others due to the driver's sleepiness.
