An earthquake measuring 3.4
degrees on the Richter scale hit the city of Zarrindasht, in Iran's
southern province of Fars on Wednesday, IRNA reported from Shiraz.
The seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics
Institute said the tremor occurred at 12:44 hours local time
(0814 GMT).
There were no reports of any casualties or damage to property
caused by the quake.

on the Richter scale jolted the city of Shahroud, in the
northeastern province of Semnan Wednesday morning.

(0239 GMT).
There were no reports of any casualties or damage to property
caused by the quake.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic
fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
