The Honorable Mayor of Houston, Bill White, attended the Persian New Year
Festival in Houston, Texas on Sunday March 21 and Proclaimed that day as the
Persian New Year's Day in Houston.

The festival was attended by more than
4,500 Iranian Americans who enjoyed the Folkloric Dances by the
internationally known Dance group "Vancouver Pars National Ballet" and
enjoyed the energetic music of the popular band BOYZ.
The festival was organized by The Iranian-American Organization of Houston
and was directed by Dr. Amir Nayebpour of the University of St. Thomas in
Houston, Texas.
