Talking to IRNA Wednesday morning, deputy for the local electricity company Mohammad Hassan Mottavallizadeh said that the first phase of he project is made up of five wind towers with an annual energy output of 124,000 megawatt hours.
He added that this energy output would spare gas consumption by 41 million cubic meters per year.
The plant is reportedly installed in a wind tunnel of 50 kilometers in length and 5 kilometers in width through which wind steadily flows at a mild velocity of 8.9 meters per second.
the official said the wind power is environment friendly and is known as the cheapest source of energy generation.
He also said the related equipment except gearboxes and control instruments are made domestically and installed by Iranian experts, adding that 15 manufacturing units in four big cities are making components of wind power generators.
