Tehran, May 30, IRNA -- Iran won four gold and three silver medals
and the title of an international freestyle wrestling tournament,
Sassari Cup, in Italy Saturday.
Romania stood second and the third title went to Hungary.
Representing the country, Islamic Azad University stood top in
55, 60, 66, and 84 kg categories and finished runner-up in 74, 96,
and 120 kg bouts.
Hossein Rangraz excelled in 55 kg, grabbing the gold while
Behnam Tayyebi took another gold in 60 kg, Ali-Asghar Bazri won the
title in 66 kg, and Amir-Reza Khadem snatched the 84 kg gold medal.
Iran's silvers came by Alireza Bahabasteh, Alireza Robat-Moradi,
and Hadi Pour-Alijan in 74, 96, and 120 kg classes respectively.
Wrestlers from Italy, Iran, Russia, Hungary, Romania, Turkey,
Spain, Canada, Bulgaria, Senegal, and China competed in the one-day
ninth edition of Sassari Cup.
