Quake hits northern Iranian town of Minoudasht

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA -- An earthquake measuring 3.7 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale shook the southern parts of the town of Minoudasht in the northern province of Golestan Thursday evening.

According to the seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 11:52 hours pm local time.

There were no reports of any casualty caused by the quake.

Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
