Quake jolts western Iranian city of Qarveh

Tehran, Nov 13, IRNA -- An earthquake measuring 3.6 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale shook the city of Qarveh in the western province of Kurdestan on Saturday morning.

According to the seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 05:16 hours local time (01.46 GMT).

There were no reports of any damage to property caused by the quake.

Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are usual occurrences.
