Tehran, Baghdad hold talks on legal pilgrimage tours
Tehran, Nov 30, IRNA -- Iran's Charge d'Affaires to Baghdad Hassan Kazemi Qomi said on Tuesday that Tehran and Baghdad were holding negotiations to arrange pilgrimage tours for nationals of both countries after observing special laws and regulations.

Qomi told IRNA on Tuesday that once Tehran reaches agreement with Baghdad on the pilgrimage tours, some 3,000 Iranians would head for Iraq for pilgrimage.

He said the number of pilgrims would definitely increase in pace with the speed of reconstruction in Iraq and increase in facilities in the holy sites.

He warned pilgrims against illegal entry to Iraq, saying a number of individuals entering Iraqi soil illegally had been arrested. He said that talks had been held with Iraqi officials concerned to secure the release of this group of people.
