India to construct 5 IT parks in Iran

Tabriz, E. Azarbaijan prov, Sept 1 -- Iranian ambassador to New Delhi said on Tuesday that India is to construct five Information Technology (IT) parks in Iran following the signing of an agreement between the sides in IT sector.

Siavosh Zargar Yaqoubi in a meeting with governor general of the East Azarbaijan province said that implementation of this project would provide training courses for 5,000 people.

He believed that the project will set the stage for potentially creating 300,000 jobs in local industrial sector worth 300 million dollars.

The ambassador stressed that the establishment of a regional economic-political block comprising India, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan would surely materialize, adding that E. Azerbaijan can have a prominent role in this process as a link point to Europe.

Governor-general of E. Azarbaijan in the meeting pointed to the need for drawing up proper plans to use this potential.

He said establishment of IT, nano technology and bio technology committees are among the measures taken by Tabriz to improve scientific and technological affairs of the province.
