Phases 4 and 5 of the South Pars project are to meet increasing gas demand in the country's urban and industrial sectors while boosting gas exports, the daily 'Tehran Times' wrote on Saturday.
When operational, both phases are expected to turn out 50 million cubic meters of refined gas, 8,000 barrels of condensates and 400 tons of sulfur per day as well as 1.05 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and one million tons of ethane.
The offshore project includes construction of 2 wellhead platforms with 12 wells on each platform, two flaring platforms, two 32-inch undersea pipelines and two 4.5-inch pipelines 105 km each in length.
Onshore installations will include a gas refinery and a 56-inch gas pipeline 70 km in length.
With previous offshore operations, the phases have registered a 96.3 percent progress as of June 20, but total onshore and offshore progress stands at 85 percent.
