Shiraz to host 3rd Middle East Tourism Exhibition
Shiraz, Fars Province, Sept 6, IRNA -- The Third Middle East Tourism Exhibition is to open in this central province's permanent fairgrounds for international exhibitions on September 12.

The Persian daily 'Iran' quoted the managing director of Fars province's tourism organization as saying some 120 government and private domestic tourism establishments from 18 provinces as well as 11 Middle East countries have indicated their desire to participate in the five-day exhibition.

Domestic and foreign cultural and tourism officials, ambassadors, cultural attaches of embassies and foreign consulates will be attending the inaugural ceremony for the exhibition on September 12.

India, Malaysia, Kuwait, Indonesia, Yemen, Turkey, Syria, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Ukraine are among the foreign countries that will participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition will be held on 6,000 sq mt of land where participating countries will be showcasing their tourism capabilities and potentials.

The exhibition aims in the long-term to establish a center for exchanging cultural and tourism experiences in the Persian Gulf and Middle East as well as transforming the city of Shiraz into a center for regional tourism interaction.

This exhibition is among the exhibitions registered in the index of the World Tourism Organization (WTO)'s international exhibitions held periodically.

It is being organized by the Cultural Heritage Organization and Governor's Office of Fars province.
