In a statement on Wednesday, the Association of Lawyers at central branch of Iran's Justice Ministry termed as 'undeniable' Iran's sovereignty over its three Persian Gulf islands and said ignoring the reality goes to contradict obvious historical facts and the geographic location of the islands.
The association strongly protested the stance, saying that members of the association, like other members of the Iranian community, consider ignoring the reality by friendly Arab states, merely because it is raised by an Arab state, as against continuation of good relations between Iran and those countries and not in line with their interests and sincerity.
The statement said Iranian nation's response to the 'unreal' claim of the UAE is that Iran's sovereignty over the three islands is 'negotiable, permanent and irrevocable' and constantly raising the claim and issuance of statements such as that by the foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf Arab states have had and would have no impact on the sovereignty over and the rightful stance of the Iranian nation in the case of the three islands.
The association expressed hope that the Persian Gulf Arab states would further study history and understand the righteous position of the Iranian nation, and avoid issuing such statements on the basis of the UAE's 'baseless' claim.
