In a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa on the fringes of 59th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Kharrazi said Tehran always supports a Middle East region free from nuclear armaments and weapons of mass destruction.
During the meeting, Moussa said the Arab League opposes dual standards, adding efforts to establish a region free from nuclear weapons in the Middle East is an issues that member states of the league pay due attention to.
In a related development, Kharrazi and his Japanese counterpart, Yoriko Kawaguchi stressed further expansion of Tehran-Tokyo ties.
The two foreign ministers reviewed the latest Iraqi developments and called for participation of the two countries in reconstruction process in that war-torn country.
Underlining the need for further consultation between the Iranian and Japanese officials, Yoriko hoped that the remaining ambiguities regarding Iran's nuclear dossier would be settled.
Kharrazi, for his part, stressed that Iran is determined to settle the remaining minor issues through further cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Iran's voluntary measures have been in line with the confidence-building trend, he said adding that building confidence is a two-sided process.
