Berlin, April 11, IRNA-Iran won the Rescue Robot World Cup on Sunday at the RoboCup German Open 2005Robo Cup competition in the central German city Paderborn.
Iran's Mechatronics Research Laboratory (MRL) team won the Rescue Robot League, while Iran's Caspian team won the Rescue Simulation League. Caspian also won the second place in Soccer Simulation 3D League.
Iran's team comprising of leader Morteza Moussakhani, header Yashar Hassanzadeh, and programers and analyzers Yashar Hassanzadeh, Komar Padidar, Mehdi Hamzeh, Saeid Chitgar, Farrokh Mahriari, and Omid Amir-Qiasvand held off a fierce German challenge before taking the title before 5,000 spectators.
Rescue Robo Cup is simulation project, whose main purpose is to provide emergency decision by integration of disaster information, prediction, planning, and human interface.
A generic urban disaster simulation environment is constructed on network computers.
Heterogeneous intelligent agents such as firefighters, commanders, victims, and volunteers conduct search and rescue activities in this virtual disaster world.
