The price index for consumer goods and services in urban areas (inflation index) rose by 15.3 percent in the first 11 months of the year, compared to the corresponding month last year.
The index price for consumer goods and services rose by 1.4 percent to 288.9 points after excluding seasonal fluctuations.
Central Bank of Iran (CBI) in a statistical report said that in the month of Bahman, price indices for foodstuff rose by 2.5 percent, for beverages and tobacco by 0.7 percent, for garments by 0.9 percent, for housing and fuel by 0.9 percent and for furniture and services by 0.5 percent.
Furthermore, the price indices for medicare and health rose by 2.4 percent, for recreation, study and education by 0.3 percent and for miscellaneous goods and services by 0.4 percent.
CBI: WPI jumps by 18 pc in Bahman
The Wholesale Price Index of goods rose by 18 percent in the Iranian month of Bahman (January 20-February 18) compared to the corresponding month the year before.
Central Bank of Iran's Economic Statistics Bureau said the General Wholesale Price Index (WPI) of goods in Bahman rose by 1.3 percent to 256.2 points, In addition, the General Wholesale Price Index of goods in a year to Bahman climbed by 13.9 percent mainly due to increase in prices of mutton, fish, eggs, fruits and vegetables, dates, tomato paste, saffron, plastic products, iron, steel, aluminum, steam boilers, household appliances, refrigerators, Paykan cars, and cotton.
Tehran residents saw the Wholesale Price Index of goods and services rise by 2.1 percent, of soft drinks and tobacco by 0.1 percent, of industrial materials except mineral fuel by 0.7 percent, of chemicals and petrochemical substances by 0.1 percent, of products based on their basic materials by 1.1 percent, of machinery and vehicles by 0.6 percent, of the agricultural, veterinary and fishing products by 2.7 percent and of construction materials by 0.7 percent in Bahman compared to the previous month of Dey.
Moreover, the Wholesale Price Index of goods and services rose by 17.3 percent, of soft drinks and tobacco by about 9.8 percent, of industrial materials except mineral fuel by about 6.1 percent, of mineral fuel and related products by about 15.3 percent, of chemical and petrochemical substances by about 18.5 percent, of products based on their basic materials by about 27.3 percent, of machinery and vehicles by about 9.7 percent, of the agricultural, veterinary and fishing products by about 17.4 percent and of construction materials by about 24.2 percent in Bahman compared to last year's Bahman, according to the CBI.
