Ilam, Sept 2, IRNA-Iranian police have found bodies of six Iranian pilgrims in the border region of Mehran in the western province of Ilam, the local Police announced Tuesday.
The bodies of pilgrims were transferred to the provincial coroner's office. The office announced they died of heatstroke and thirst.
The police added that the pilgrims intended to enter the neighboring country of Iraq illegally.
According to the local officials, the bodies of 205 illegal pilgrims who died of heatstroke and thirst or got killed as a result of mine explosion have been discovered so far.
The city of Mehran, one of the main regions used for illegal trafficking to Iraq, has 220-kilometer of joint border with Iraq.
