Four villagers wounded by hungry bear in northern Iran

Meshkinshahr, Ardebil prov, April 28, IRNA-Four villagers including a schoolboy were wounded by a hungry bear that entered a village near the northern city of Meshkinshahr on Thursday in search of food, witnesses told IRNA.

The angry, hungry animal attacked and wounded three villagers after he entered 'Shisar', located in the outskirts of Meshkinshahr, to feed himself.

The villagers were attacked while they were trying to drive the bear out of their village, witnesses said.

They added that the beast went on a rampage through the village entering the village school and injuring a student before being trapped by local forest rangers.

The rangers later fed the animal before setting it free in the area where it had come from.
