Kalaleh, Golestan prov, Aug 1, IRNA-Floods caused by heavy rains killed 27 people in the village of Golidagh in Golestan Province, northern Iran, a local official said on Monday.
The death toll, so far, stands at 27 people in the suburbs of Kalaleh town and rescue teams assisted with three sniffer dogs are searching, Kalaleh Governor Mohammad Omid told IRNA.
He warned the toll could rise due to arduous and mountainous routes, calling for relief aid.
The floods, he added, caused blackouts along 30 km out of 60-km-long power network in Golidagh.
A local official on Sunday said the floods damaged 50 rural houses.
Kalaleh, home to some 160,000 people, is located in the easternmost part of northern province.
