Semnan, Aug 3, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale hit the city of Semnan in the northeastern province of Semnan on Wednesday.
The seismological base of Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, recorded the quake at 13:22 hours local time (0852GMT).
The tremor was felt in the city's outskirts, located in 34.47 latitude and 53.16 longitude, the base said.
There were no reports of damage to property, added the report.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran, which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
