Tehran, Aug 3, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale jolted the city of Bostanabad in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The seismological base of Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, recorded the quake at 04:09 hours local time (2339 GMT on Tuesday).
The tremor was felt in the city's outskirts, located in 37.92 latitude and 46.87 longitude, the base said.
There were no reports of damage to properties, added the report.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran, which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
