United Nations, Aug 6, IRNA-Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will confer with Iranians residing in the US on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly session. The 60th annual session of the 191-nation UN General Assembly will officially open in New York on September 14 and will wrap up on September 16.
"During his stay in New York, Ahmadinejad is scheduled to meet Iranians residing in the US," Iran's permanent Representative to the United Nations Mohammad Javad Zarif told IRNA Friday.
He noted that no special plan has been set for his meeting with Iranian religious minorities in New York.
According to the preliminary list of those who are to deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is the third who will address the opening session on September 14.
Some 122 presidents, 55 heads of state, two vice-presidents, two deputy prime ministers and nine foreign ministers will take part in the 60th annual session of the UN General Assembly.
Kamal Kharrazi, Foreign Minister of Iran's former president Mohammad Khatami, addressed the 59th annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York last year.
