Shiraz, Aug 7, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit outskirts of Oz city in Fars province on Sunday afternoon.
The seismological base of Fars, affiliated to Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, said in a statement that the quake occurred at 14:12 hours local time (09:42 GMT Sunday).
The quake was registered in an area located in 27.84 latitude and 53.67 longitude, the base added.
There were no reports of damage to property caused by the tremble.
Force four quake is not strong enough to cause casualties.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
