Mild quake hits Dasht-e Kavir in northeastern Iran

Tehran, Aug 11, IRNA-A mild earthquake measuring 3.8 on Richter scale jolted Dasht-e Kavir region in the northeastern province of Semnan Thursday morning.

The provincial seismological base, affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, registered the tremor at 11:16 hours local time (0646 GMT) in Dasht-e Kavir, south of the province.

The tremble was registered in an area located at 34.56 latitude and 53.28 longitude, the base said.

It added that no reports were available on possible loss of life or damage to property caused by the quake.

It was the fourth quake which rocked the province during the past few days.
