Dubai, Aug 11, IRNA-Iran's relatively new initiative in issuing visas at country's all international airports has received broad welcome of neighboring countries' tourists, particularly those in Iran's southern neighbors like the UAE and Qatar.
According to IRNA correspondent's report from Dubai on Wednesday, the Islamic Republic's initiative in issuing short-term tourist visas at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport and Imam Khomeini International Airport, Shiraz Airport, Mashhad Airport, and Tabriz Airport has already resulted in boosting the country's tourism industry.
According to Iran Air Homa's latest flight schedule, Homa has now two direct roundtrip flights from Shiraz to Doha weekly and Qatar Airways, too, has five direct round flights from Doha to Tehran and back, as well as two flights to Holy Mashhad.
Meanwhile, United Arab Emirates' Foreign Ministry's Consulate Affairs managing director announced recently that UAE citizens wishing to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran can obtain visas from that country's four international airports.
Iran is currently issuing instant, short term, tourist visas to nationals of sixty-eight countries at IRI's five international airports in a bid to boost the country's tourism industry, particularly in the region.
Iran's other airlines, too, have arranged for direct round flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah thanks to the country's easy visa issuance procedure that is expected to further boost regional tourism in near future.
The visas in question have week-long validity, but those tourists wishing to have longer stays in Iran can obtain visas at the Islamic Republic of Iran's embassies and consulate offices throughout the world.
Iran with its rich and diversified nature and beautiful natural resorts, as well as the great wealth of ancient monuments and historical sites throughout the county, has always been a tourism pole in the region and far beyond.
