Tehran, Aug 18, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.5 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the surrounding area of Maku City, in Iran's Western Azerbaijan Province, on Wednesday evening.
According to a report by Tabriz Seismography Center affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 22:56:42 local time (18:26 GMT) and its epicenter was at 39:24 latitude and 44:47 longitude.
There is no immediate report on possible damages or casualties of the moderate quake yet.
